Who’s It For?
It’s always a big deal when TaylorMade releases new drivers. The Stealth 2 drivers from TaylorMade represent the second series of drivers in the Carbonwood Era, which was introduced with the original Stealth series in 2022. While it may not appear to be much different than its predecessor, the Stealth 2 drivers feature some significant technological upgrades that are sure to produce longer and straighter tee shots. The Stealth 2 Plus driver is designed for better players or higher swing speed player, featuring a more forward center of gravity that delivers lower spin.
The Tech Story
The TaylorMade Stealth 2 drivers feature a full carbon construction, and the entire design is made for fast ball speeds and superb performance. The new 60X Carbon Twist Face has been refined with an advanced version of Inverted Cone Technology which creates a larger sweet spot for higher ball speeds across the whole face. Meanwhile, this version of the 60X Carbon Twist Face is 2 grams lighter to produce even faster speeds. The Carbon Reinforced Composite Ring unites the entire driver head into a singular force and frees up additional mass that has been repositioned to optimize forgiveness. Twist Face is still present in the clubface shape, designed to correct strikes off the heel or toe and maintain ball speeds and spin rates on those misses. Meanwhile, the Asymmetric Inertia Generator promotes optimal aerodynamics to help improve club speed and is paired with a 15-gram back weight for stability and high MOI. Additionally, a 15-gram sliding weight track brings the center of gravity forward for lower spin and provides more tuning options for players.
