TaylorMade M3 #4 Iron Stiff Flex Steel Men's Right
Description
Who's It For?
TaylorMade’s new M3 irons will be replacing the M1 irons and there have been significant changes made in terms of aesthetics. The M3 irons will feature a more compact profile, thinner toplines, and less offset than the M1, which is sure to appeal to lower-handicap players. That said, the M3 irons were built for distance, and the high launch conditions and impressive forgiveness they provide will make these irons a great option for mid-handicappers as well.
The Tech Story
As is the case with the new M4 irons, the technology that is fueling performance in the M3 irons is what TaylorMade is calling RIBCOR. More specifically, the perimeter of the M3 clubheads has been made stiffer by using internal ribs. That said, the center of the clubface remains completely free to flex at impact. As a result, less energy is lost at impact, especially on off-center strikes, and the result is faster ball speeds and enhanced accuracy on shots played from the heel or toe. Also a benefit of RIBCOR Technology is that it works in conjunction with an internal damping badge to reduce unwanted vibrations at impact, with the result being a softer, more pleasing sound and feel than what the M1 irons offered. M3 irons also feature 15 grams of tungsten weight in the sole, 360 Undercut Technology, and a 180 Fluted Hosel, all of which help increase MOI and improve launch conditions, especially with the long and mid irons. Additionally, Face Slots and Speed Pockets have been incorporated into the designs of the 3-7 irons to further protect ball speed on mis-hits, while a new leading edge has also been utilized, with the result being more consistent turf interaction.
